Ashby museum has an archive of over 3000 photographs – both original and copies. This page allows people to view the main group of photographs, but does not include photographs in specialist collections as these often include ones that are not in our primary area of interest. Larger images may be viewed at the museum during opening hours, and copies for private use may be purchased.

Railway Inn, Moira. Kept by Joseph Sharpe. One of the babies is Ken Sharpe. His grandfather - Joseph - is behind the dog. Loooks like a christening party, probably around 1900.

Moira furnace and Ashby canal bed (filled in in the 1960's) Furnace built in 1804 by the Earl of Moira. Forerunner of the larger, more advanced furnaces and includes lime kilns, a casting shed, engine house. Is now a museum. For some time in the 20th. century, people were housed in the building!.
