Ashby museum has an archive of over 3000 photographs – both original and copies. This page allows people to view the main group of photographs, but does not include photographs in specialist collections as these often include ones that are not in our primary area of interest. Larger images may be viewed at the museum during opening hours, and copies for private use may be purchased.

Advert for charabanc rides in 1921 by W.H.Peters of 5 Smisby Road. Vehicle featured `is a Maudsley 35hp charabanc, Reg No: AY7604. 26 seats, registered 27.3.1920 to W.H.Peters of Bath street. Purple livery. Sold in August 1924 to R.L.Muggleston of Overseal and then to Sturgess of Leicester in February 1926. Scrapped September 1927.

A Morris Commercial flat back, liveried as "Moore's Transport (Ashby) Ltd, Ashby-de-l-Zouch, Phone Ashby 140". Driver Jeff Mason. Photo taken 1951 in North Street, outside what is now the museum, just after nationalisation of transport. Jeff Mason went on to run his own business "Masons" which is still being run by his daughter and son-in-law and grandsons in 2011.

Probably a Sentinel tipper truck, liveried as "Ashby-de-la-Zouch Urban District Council" - body built at Karrier Motor Works in Huddersfield in 1926. Chassis probably older. Note: carbide lamps on front and fixed horn which also suggests earlier than 1926.
