Ashby museum has an archive of over 3000 photographs – both original and copies. This page allows people to view the main group of photographs, but does not include photographs in specialist collections as these often include ones that are not in our primary area of interest. Larger images may be viewed at the museum during opening hours, and copies for private use may be purchased.

Some well known and public spirited people of Ashby, circa 1910-1911. Including (but not known where on photo) Mrs. Parson, wife of owner of the Soap Works. "my mother", Mrs. Sumner, wife of chemist, Mrs. Farmer, wife of town clerk and mother of Frank, Mrs. Bullen, wie of Sumner's rival chemist, Miss Pratt, great character and full of good works, Mrs. Abell-Smith of Coleorton Hall, whose son married into royal family ( Lady May Cambridge), Mr & Mrs. Musson, grandparents of the "girl" who worked with Mr. Joyce in the lawyer's office. Occasion may have been some celebration of the Ashby Cottage hospital, Mrs. Abell-Smith's main activity in Ashby.
