Holywell in background on left. Published information:" The gas
works were erected in 1834 and enlarged in 1859, the capital
consisting of 1,384 £10 shares of which £9 per share has been
paid up. The charge for gas is 4s 2d per 1,000 cubic feet
subject fo 15% discount for prompt payment according to quantity
used. Directors: Mr. E. Ison (chairman) Rev. C. Pratt, Messrs.

photos, one with railings around yard. Dates unknown. Building
erected in 1910, for 350 boys, average attendance 315. William
Ernest Jennings was headmaster, J.W.Jackson took over in 1923.
